Anoushka Shankar
Anoushka Shankar is an Indian-born British American musician and sitarist, is well known for her musical talents. She was the youngest and first female to win a British House of Commons Shield she's received nine Grammy Awards nominations and was the first artist of Indian of Indian descent to perform live in concert and serve as a presenter at the awards ceremony. Anoushka Sitar Shankar, the Indian young sitar artist. She is Ravi Shankar's pupil, and the daughter. Her childhood was spent bouncing back and forth from London and New Delhi. When she was only 13, her first show at New Delhi took place. Then she moved to Encinitas CA she attended high school. She graduated with distinction in the year 1999. Anouskha still has a promising music and acting career, even though she's young. She performs regularly together with her dad, and has performed with him for quite a number of years. The first album she released as a solo artist, Anourag, was released in 1998. Two years later she released the Grammy nominated album Live on stage at Carnegie Hall. Alongside performing at every major venue, she also has an extensive stage presence. The career of Anoushka doesn't only involve the world of music. Bapi The of My Life of My Live is her 2002 novel, and was a tribute to Ravi Shankar. In 2003, she appeared as the role of a Bharat Nathyam young dancer Dance Like a Man. Anoushka's career is still developing and she will continue to do many great things in the near future. Anoushka Shankar is a British native who lived her early days split between London, Delhi and California. at the age of nine She began studying the piano with her father. Her first performance with the sitar came during her birthday celebrations for her 75th birthday in Delhi just four years later. Anoushka was able to gain a great deal of experience touring the world along with the father. She appeared at Carnegie Hall in her teenage period, as well as recorded for George Harrison's WOMAD Festival. To honor her position as an outstanding musician in the field of Asian Arts, she was presented with the House of Commons Shield by British Parliament.
